The October 12 edition of Now magazine has a photo special from the Gay and Lesbian Awards at The Savoy in London. The audience was entertained by The Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, and there's a nice photo of Porl Smith dancing to the music.
Frank Sinatra makes a comeback! Just like the Elvis tour of a few years' back, some bright spark has decided to being Ol' Blue Eyes back to life. A disembodied voice will be singing to the sounds of a live orchestra. Sinatra at The London Palladium will be previewing from February 20006. You can read all about it in the Guardian on line.
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are back on the big screen at The National Film Theatre on Tuesday 20 December (6.20pm) and Wednesday 21 December (8.45pm). The film is their first partnership, Flying Down To The Rio.
The story of Tommy Dorsey continues on Tuesday nights at 9.30pm on Radio 2 in Swing High!
